Sexual Life (2005)

Sex makes the world go around, and human encounters that are highlighted by the eroticized sliding of skin upon skin provide the thematic lynchpins of Sexual Life (2005). A smorgasbord of quick and deft personality sketches, writer/director Ken Kwapis’s presentation of intertwined city dwellers starts with a meeting of the loins and follows one of the lovers to that person’s next carnal contact, after which the narrative baton is handed to the new bedmate, who in turn moves off and passes the torch to the next lucky luster, and so on until the ring of rutting comes full circle. Sexual Life seems to say that in this crazy, mixed-up, in-heat universe, we really are all in bed together.
