With her doe eyes and haunted, haunting expression, Julia Campbell is a natural screen beauty. Born in Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, to a model mother and an army officer father, the young Julia knew that she wanted to perform, but acting was not her first love. She started training in ballet with the dream of becoming a professional ballerina, but when she was eleven years old, Julia developed scoliosis. At first she worse a back brace during the day, only removing it for ballet practice, but when doctors learned that her spine curvature was so severe that it was crushing her right lung, Julia had to undergo corrective surgery and wear a full-body cast for nearly a year. This experience ended Julia's ballet dreams, but after taking acting classes in high school, she switched gears and later made a name for herself on the boob tube. Julia joined the cast of Ryan's Hope in 1984. Then a commercial she did for the fast food chain Jack in the Box earned Julia a role in Women in Prison, a short-lived sitcom on the fledgling FOX network in 1987. Since then, she has become a familiar face on television, appearing on shows like Herman’s Head (1992), Seinfeld (1998) — in which she played the “sentence-finisher” — Judging Amy (2001), and Desperate Housewives (2007). In 1998, Julia played Miriam “Muffy” Blackstone-Nichols in Poodle Springs, a made-for-TV adaptation of Raymond Chandler’s The Maltese Falcon that gives us a peek at Julia’s breasts, and in The Resident (2018), she shows off her bod in lingerie.
