Why is she popular right now? It is likely because she plays Penny Benjamin in the new Top Gun: Maverick movie. It has everyone feeling nostalgic for more Jenny Connelly and feeling the need to look at what she's been up to. Before Top Gun, she was playing Melanie Cavill in the Snowpiercer series over the past two years. But before that? She was going nude!
Jennifer Connelly comes from the Catskill Mountains where she was born. She then moved to New York City where she was later raised in Brooklyn. When she was only a teenager, she became a model which lead to acting gigs like a role in Once Upon a Time in America in 1984 (there is a nude scene in that movie, but it is a body double). The following year, Italian horror master Dario Argento hired the teen to act in his thriller Phenomena. So it was fairly quick that Jennifer Connelly became a global sensation!
When she was finally an adult, she starred in 1990's The Hot Spot. The young, sexy Connelly was only 20 when she made her nude debut on the beach. The 2000s saw a slight slowdown of Jen's nude scenes - including the use of a merkin in American Pastoral despite showing her bush the previous year in 2015's Shelter.
