An uptight lawyer takes her two teenagers to visit their hippie grandma in Peace, Love, & Misunderstanding (2011). Diane (Catherine Keener) has just decided to divorce her husband, so she packs up her kids, Zoe (Elizabeth Olsen) and Jake (Nat Wolff), and heads to stay with her mother, Grace (Jane Fonda). But Diane hasn’t seen Grace in 20 years because of her mother’s free-spirited pot-smoking ways, so there is quite a culture clash when the trio arrives in Woodstock, NY. But don’t worry, they will all find new loves in the small town, in between bouts of heart-to-heart female bonding. There’s no nudity in this rom-com and the closest we get to some free-lovin’ is Catherine Keener stripping down to her bra at the 28-minute mark. That must be the misunderstanding part.
