Downtown Owl (2023)

Based on the novel of the same name by Chuck Klosterman, Downtown Owl (2023) marks the feature writing and directing debut of real-life couple Lily Rabe and Hamish Linklater. Set in the fictional town of Owl, North Dakota during the early 80s, Rabe stars as Julia, a new high school English teacher who just moved to town and finds herself simultaneously charmed and repulsed by this town that time forgot. We're soon introduced to other denizens of the town like local old timer Horace (Ed Harris), backup high school quarterback Mitch (August Blanco), former champion quarterback Vance (Henry Golding), and Julia's fellow teacher and drinking buddy Naomi (Vanessa Hudgens). Their lives all collide when a massive blizzard descends on the sleepy town right in the middle of average day, forever changing this little town. Sadly there's no nudity in the flick, but there is a sexy scene where Lily Rabe shows lots of leg and cleavage while getting ready to go out for the night, set to Elvis Costello's "Magnificent Hurt!" You'll let out a magnificent squirt!
