Andrea True Nude

Porn chic wasn’t working out for everybody back in 1976. Andrea True was in her mid-thirties and having difficulty getting work in the adult industry. Her mainstream career looked to have already peaked with a turn as an extra in The Way We Were (1973). Even her bid at becoming a pioneering producer/director/star had stalled with her adult epic Once Over Nightly (1975). Then the massive-mammed star found herself caught up amongst a changing government in Jamaica and in need of a way to spend money that she couldn’t travel with. She flew in NYC producer Gregg Diamond to go into a studio to record tracks which included “More, More, More”--and soon gave America more, more, more chances than they ever dreamed to check out a genuine porn star on their TV screens. Now billed as the fabulous frontwoman for The Andrea True Connection, Andrea proved with great ferver, that disco didn’t suck--or maybe it did. Andrea’s hit faded with the disco scene, though, and she had retired from the adult industry by 1981. Andrea has recently reemerged, however, as a lovely older woman in VH1 specials and documentaries such as Inside Deep Throat (2005). We’re also happy to remember her pre-pop-star days when she was making our pants dance in films including The Seduction of Lyn Carter (1974).
