Cornelia Sharpe Nude

Best known as the woman who broke Serpico’s heart, Cornelia Sharpe at least had the decency to do it while naked. Playing the role of Leslie in the Oscar-nominated Serpico (1973) opposite Al Pacino, Cornelia’s pointy breasts made their debut in a shared bath while telling her cop boyfriend she was marrying someone else. What a way to be dumped! Ever the sharer, the blonde starlet also gave away views of her titillating twosome to Elliott Gould in Busting (1974), where she played Jackie Faraday in the comedy, crime drama; and to Michael Sarrazin in The Reincarnation of Peter Proud (1975), portraying the character Nora Hayes in the horror mystery. (Someone passed kindergarten with flying colors…) Co-starring as Nancy Stillman with Peter Fonda in Open Season (1974), with Sean Connery in The Next Man (1976) as Nicole Scott, and with Omar Sharif in S.H.E.: Security Hazards Expert (1980) as Lavinia Kean did not, however, yield any more bare-breasted bonanzas (maybe someone did not pass kindergarten after all?), but did add some impressive credentials to her resume. Unfortunately, it wasn’t quite enough to keep the Alabama girl’s star on the rise, and her next role was as Ruth Hopkins in Venom (1981), a movie about terrorists, kidnapping, and a deadly snake—tagline: Kidnappers terrify…black mambas kill! After that, Ms. Cornelia had to wait 19 years for another role, and only earned the spot of Fan of Freddie in Table One (2000). Guess that’s what happens when you break Serpico’s heart…even if you do it naked.
