From the king of cool Steve McQueen to The King, Elvis Presley, all the way to Joe Lewis, the "white kickboxing asshole" as Bruce Lee declares in Once Upon a Time...In Hollywood (2019), no one had more fun or "dated" more celebrities in the '70s than the skintacular bronzed brunette goddess Barbara Leigh. And it's easy to see why. Born in Ringgold Georgia, Barbara began modeling at age nineteen after she was discovered in a Beverly Hills nightclub. Strangely, she had moved to L.A. to work as a nurse, a role she reprised in The Student Nurses (1970), sans scrubs. Helloooo nurse! It was only her second film, but she showed everything there was to see. Not to say we didn't want to see it again! The Playboy Model first hit the small screen in a Coca-Cola commercial and appeared in about fifty commercials altogether. Movie work soon followed, including the role of Jean, Rock Hudson's wife (Barbara was so hot it wouldn't even surprise us if she managed to make Rock hard), in Pretty Maids All in a Row (1971) and the female lead opposite Steve McQueen in Junior Bonner (1972). The Bullitt (1968) star loved her tits so much, they quickly became a real life couple. Barbara reteamed with Rock in Pretty Maids All in a Row (1971) before again flashing all three B's in Terminal Island (1973). After bit roles in CHiPs, The Rockford Files, and The Incredible Hulk, she skinny dipped in the knocker filled knockoff about horny cavemen, Mistress of the Apes (1979), and flashed us one more time in Famous T & A (1982). These days, on top of appearing in documentaries about her famous trysts and working for Playboy Enterprises, the original model for the Vampirella comic books now works with foundations fighting Graves Disease, from which she suffers. Hopefully there are some old 8MM's out there of Barbara's amorous Hollywood adventures for us to discover!
