Laura's lusty form first appeared onscreen in Lorenzo's Oil (1992), leaving more than just Lorenzo a bit messy. After getting a few made-for-TV flicks under her belt, the stage-trained Laura returned to the silver screen with a sweetheart role in Dave (1993). Not long after that, Laura appeared in the cable mini-series about the queer life Tales of the City (1993), and though she didn't appear nude in that installment, Further Tales of the City (2001) did bring out Laura's fuzzy-wuzzy.

She went on to grace the big screen again in Absolute Power (1997) as the daughter of master thief Clint Eastwood and opposite Jim Carrey in The Truman Show (1998).
