Brooklyn gal Jewel Shepard took an amazing path to L.A. stardom. While working as a stripper, her car broke down in front of auto designer George Barris's shop, home of the Batmobile and the Monkeemobile. Barris got her a job modeling for car shoots, and her acting career soon took off. Her first nude role made her a true gazonga goddess, playing the beauty whose top gets popped by telekinetic Scott Baio in the film Zapped! (1982). Ms. Shepard's since gone on to doff her clothes in plenty of films (and to do some voice work on the Garfield and Friends and The Garfield Show cartoons). We're particularly fond of her muscular mammaries in Caged Heat II: Stripped of Freedom (1993), but her earlier, softer, brunette years are just as sparkling. Her best skindeavor is the adult film Christina (1984). Playing the title role, Jewel goes full-frontal in several scenes and shepherds our attention to her hairy beaver via a gratuitous close-up. We even see the animal's lips! Jewel later promoted her nudie career in the documentaries Jewel Naked Around the World (1995) and If I'm So Famous, How Come Nobody's Ever Heard of Me? (1994), the latter a video version of her autobiography. She returned to feature films--after an eight-year absence--as a hooker in the critically-acclaimed drama The Cooler (2003). Following this role, she took another eight-year break from acting, to return in the Best Picture winner The Artist (2011). It's an uncredited role. We wish it were unclothed. Sadly it looks like Ms. Shepard has put away her jewels for good.
