As the daughter of two of India's most noted actors (Madhur and Saeed Jaffrey), it could've been expected that Sakina Jaffrey would've just ended up smiling blandly in Bollywood musical production numbers. Instead, Sakina started her career in New York City in a series of cool indie productions. Before acting, Sakina got her education, graduating with honors from Vassar College with a degree in Chinese Language. She had initially intended to work as a translator but ultimately ended up acting when she landed a part in the movie The Perfect Murder (1988). From there, her career started taking off. She has appeared in more than 65 movies and TV shows, working opposite some of the biggest names in the entertainment world.
She did get to work with her mother in the movie Cotton Mary (1999), the film that famously included the debut of Sakina's perfect breasts that come out when she gets on top of a lucky guy, pulls her top down, and lets him suckle away. When her mom (played by her real mom) catches them, the guy runs off and Sakina dances around the room topless, her jiggling jugs stealing the scene. Sakina kept on challenging expectations--and working with her mom--in Chutney Popcorn (2000), a fun tale of lovely lesbians.
She also added to the international glamour in Jonathan Demme's Charade (1963) remake The Truth About Charlie (2002). Sadly, though, American Made (2003) doesn't show her getting made by an American. Regularly switching between some high profile TV shows and movies, Sakina’s career is really hitting its stride with high profile roles on such hit TV shows as House of Cards, Little Voice, Defending Jacob, and Snowpiercer!
In 2022, at the age of 60, Sakina looked sexier than ever when she joined the cast of the hit Showtime series Billions in its sixth season, staying on for the seventh and final season. As Dave Mahar, Sakina plays a defense attorney who finds herself in the unenviable position of having to court the attention of Paul Giamatti's NY Attorney General to go after Corey Stoll's Michael Prince. Who knew courtroom intrigue could be this sexy, and all it took was Sakina Jaffrey!
