The Early Life of Christina Hendricks

The southern belle originally hails from Knoxville, Tennessee, but she spent most of her childhood in Washington, D.C., Portland, and Twin Falls, Idaho. They sure did move this creative little girl. She has a relatively normal life until she started modeling at the young age of 18. From 18-27, she focused on modeling and she didn't have her first TV role until 1999 when she landed a recurring role in Beggars and Choosers. She immediately had fans begging to see her go nude!

Here's a fun fact: the redheaded minx is actually a natural blonde! Her carpet does not match her drapes, not that we have ever actually seen the carpet. She dyed her hair for a performance of Anne of Green Gables and she has kept this beautiful shade of copper ever since.

How Christina Hendricks Got Her Start

Ms. Hendricks began her career as a model in Japan and in Europe. She modeled and walked runways in New York City and London where she lived for a year and took acting classes. She has often bragged that her career in Italy was one of the most freeing moments of her life because Italy loved her curvaceous figure that she maintained by drinking cappuccinos and eating pasta. We love this woman and her love of decadent, beautiful life.

She moved to Los Angeles with her mom and her brother in her twenties and was initially going to play it safe by working in the music business on the business side, but her friends convinced her not to. She is too beautiful! They dissuaded her from hiding her heavenly face and body from the camera and the world has forever been better for it. She kept auditioning and modeling and eventually started to appear in major commercials. She was even in the Everclear video for the 1997 song "One Hit Wonder" where Christina proved that she was going to be a major hit. She was even the iconic hand model on the posters for the movie American Beauty. She was circling Hollywood and it was only a matter of time before she closed in.

She started starring in the MTV anthology series Undressed all about sex and hookup culture. From there she was cast in 2000's Angel and had guest roles in episodes of ER, The Court, and The Big Time before she landed her cult role in the canceled classic Firely (2002). We don't mean canceled in a bad way - it was literally canceled and fans have been wanting justice ever since.

In 2007 Christina landed the role of sizzling secretarial sexpot Joan Holloway on AMC’s critically acclaimed hit drama Mad Men. Six Emmy nominations and a bounty of bosom bounces later, Christina was arguably the most talented and tantalizing actress on TV. People of all demographics tuned in to Mad Men to see world-class acting paired with world-class jugs. However, AMC, being a basic cable station, is reluctant to broadcast jugs at full volume. When the show--whose name accurately describes its blue balled fans--ended in 2015, Christina took her talents to the more appropriate and less restrictive big screen, on which roles in Zoolander 2 (2016), The Neon Demon (2016), Fist Fight (2017), and American Woman (2018) were projected. The proverbial mad men watched these films with bated breath and 'bated fists hoping for a peek at her glorious peaks, but it was Christina, not the censors, who kept visibility low. Don't get us wrong: she's appeared scantily clad in numerous TV series and movies, including early filmography entries like The Family Tree (2011) and God's Pocket (2014), but there's a universe of difference in that thin pale line separating cleavage from the areola. We'll stand and salute if Christina ever lets those red rockets fly.

She plays Beth Boland in the 2018 series Good Girls where she joined two other hilarious hotties as regular women who become thieves.
