We ain’t afraid of no Alecia Jai Fears. The often bleached blonde and always African-American beauty is the opposite of fearful when she plays Sweety in Joy Road (2004), her debut, a crime drama about a defense attorney in Detroit, who wants out of the business, but is pulled back in by his sister to represent her boyfriend, a gang leader. As dramatic as that plot sounds, it’s nothing compared to her next film, Crossover (2006), where Alecia plays Eboni in the sports flick.
