All of 5’2” and not afraid to get a little kinky in her on-screen work, Japanese actress Naomi Tani has quite the reputation for appearing in “pink films,” soft-core porn movies from the Land of the Rising Sun that include nudity or have sex themes. Born Akemi Fukuda, the word “tani” translates to the slang word for the cleavage between the breasts, and rumor has it she opened a restaurant after she retired from film called Ohtani, or Big Cleavage/Breasts. And if all that isn’t enough to convey the brunette beauty shows off her chest on multiple occasions, in multiple films, then Mr. Skin will just have to show you with the half-dozen titles he’s got here on Skin Central. And, yes, if you think you sense a theme of BDSM (bondage, domination, sadism, masochism for the innocent among us), you would be correct, as that is definitely considered one of Naomi’s specialties. She racked up quite the successful career through the late ‘60s and all through the ‘70s, her biggest hits came from Nikkatsu, Japan’s oldest film studio, starring in several films from the studio’s “Roman Porno” series, high-budget quality pink films. After appearing in Flower and Snake (1974), and Wife to be Sacrificed (1974), she starred in Cruelty: Black Rose Torture (1975), introducing Naomi’s new nickname, Black Rose, which would be re-used in later film titles. She also took turns in Fascination: Portrait of a Lady (1977); Rope Hell (1978); Fairy in a Cage (1977); Lady Black Rose (1978), with two notorious scenes, one involving brandy and one involving water; Flesh of the Rose (1978); and her last film, Rope and Skin (1979). And while these movies were pink and porn and fetishist, Naomi’s performance took them beyond the norm, and she was nominated for best actress by the Japanese Academy (like the Academy Awards) for two of those movies noted above.
