Nicolas Cage runs roughshod through the hotels and casinos of Atlantic City in Brian De Palma’s kinetic crime thriller Snake Eyes (1998). The director exhibits his trademark camera razzle-dazzle to spin a story about a homicide cop (Cage) who witnesses a hit attempt on a high-ranking government official. Before long the sleazy but charismatic detective is hard at work rounding up suspects and trying to keep abreast of every last double-cross. One of his witnesses is busty beauty Carla Gugino--who doesn’t need any of DePalma’s steadicam tricks to show off her drop-dead-gorgeous bod.
