Mandy (Billie Piper) is a lot of things in this modern world we live in.  She's a mother, a writer, a nihilist, an atheist, but most notably a woman who is at a critical crisis point in her life, she's straight up lonely.  Enter Pete (Leo Bill), brash, religious, blunt to a fault, and a traditionalist when it comes to honesty in love.  When these two smash into each other, neither of them know whether to fall in love, hate, or potentially get into a fist fight because they are both so painfully honest with one another.  Pete thinks he needs to find a sense of belonging in the world and he certainly wants a hot woman to do it with, just so long as she isn't totally intolerable like the rest of the women of London, so maybe if Mandy can put aside her bullshit, he can tolerate her.  Mandy thinks love letters are nice, but death threats might be more effective in a relationship, so are these two psychotic lovers just destined to get married and kind of hate each other for the rest of their lives in this anti-romantic comedy?  Depends... It's going to take a good psychical examination of a naked Mandy and her asshole from Pete to see if he can love her, and it's going to take Pete dancing at a wedding instead of being shitty to the perfect bride Cressida (Lily James) for Mandy to find out what is going on in his twisted head.  The stunning writer, director, and star Billie Piper sadly uses a body double, but whomever she is pops her clothes off for the body examination scene in quite grand fashion, and we also get a nip slip from Lily James dancing in a low-cut wedding dress both happen in this pitch black comedy.  Both these lovers truly are Rare Beasts.
