The legacy of the Swedish screen siren raises expectations of erotic visions. When we fantasize about Scandinavia, we picture a powder-soft terrain of pretty peaks and a face glowing with inner heat. Such dreams materialize in Pernilla August. The sizzling Swede is as hot as her last name implies. Perhaps that’s why she caught the attention of her nation’s most famous moviemaker Ingmar Bergman. It’s not hard to see what he saw in her; we assume he viewed her nude debut in Lasse Hallström’s film Tuppen (1981). After shooting those skinny-dipping scenes, the alluring actress was ready to bare her breasts in Bergman’s family epic Fanny and Alexander (1982). Pernilla proceeded to perform in more of his works, such as The Best Intentions (1991), Private Confessions (1996), and In the Presence of a Clown (1997). Next came the skinternational period piece I Am Dina (2002) featuring Maria Bonnevie, Gérard Depardieu, and Pernilla’s drenched chest. When she falls into a steamy laundry pit, we can make out her nips. Unfortunately, the skintastic accident means the end of her character, who is dead sexy in more ways than one! Since then, Ms. August found success as a screenwriter (Beyond) and director (Time Bomb). Of course, she is best known around the globe for playing the mother of Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999), Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002), and Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2011). For Pernilla, Mr. Skin erects his light saber!
