Amy (2015)

The poignant and touching documentary Amy (2015) examines the high cost of celebrity in today's media obsessed culture. A portrait of chanteuse Amy Winehouse, who rose to enormous heights thanks to a smoky singing voice born right out of the Ella Fitzgerald/Billie Holliday era of music. Her life was almost constantly undercut by tragedy, from her famously destructive relationship with Blake Fielder-Civil to the way her own father Mitch Winehouse took advantage of her fame to try and get his own career off the ground. It's a harrowing journey, but one that undercuts the sadness with a nice glimpse of Amy's right nipple while she and Blake hit the high seas together during the happy early days!
