Jordan Sexy

She was born Pamela Rooke, but like many others who came up during the punk-rock revolution of the mid-'70s she chose a more fitting name for herself, Jordan. OK, it's not the most original name, but her trademark beehive-spiked hairdo and geometric Mondrian-styled makeup leaves her a pretty distinctive presence. She was in an early incarnation of Adam and the Ants and worked as their manager, as well as supporting herself in the famous punk-rock clothing shop Sex as a boutique assistant. But it's her arthouse role as Amyl Nitrite in Derek Jarman's Jubilee (1977) that will forever cement her place in perversion. She had already made her film debut for Jarman in his Sebastiane (1976) and then appeared in two shorts by the director, Jordan's Dance (1977) and Jordan's Wedding (1981). But if you want to get into her shorts, sadly she's never taken them off on film. She does dance around in a Roman gladiator outfit, complete with garters, stockings, and transparent panties in Jubilee, but that's as close as the tiny-topped Brit has come to skin. She did show up uncredited in The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle (1980) wearing a T-shirt that says, "Only Anarchists Are Pretty." Mr. Skin agrees.
