Along Came Love (2023)

It’s the 1950’s and Francois (Vincent Lacoste), a rich student prepping his thesis, and Madeleine (Anaïs Demoustier), a waitress and single mother, meet at the coastal French hotel where she works. They fall in love and get married, but both harbor dark secrets. Madeleine’s son is the product of her affair with a German soldier, which she was humiliated and vilified for after the war, while Francois is gay and constantly fearing he’ll be discovered and arrested. Complications arise when Francois’s former lover tracks him down and puts the couple’s happy ending in jeopardy. We were worried there wouldn’t be any nudity, but then along came Maud Léone’s massive mams, and now we might be in love too!
